Posted by Elrond Yep, it is on the Mac now as well. You just need to Google Warhamer Online and run the download (if you have the patience ) Here's my 'puter history, for a laugh! I started off with a ZX Spectrum (can't remember the model) and a black and white TV as a monitor Super Nintendo N64 PlayStation 2 PC (a really slow piece of crap by the way!) Toshiba Satellite Laptop I also used to game with a friend who had rich parents and play on his PC, Sega Dreamcast, and PS1! If I had the money, I'd upgrade to a decent gaming PC or laptop, but my Satellite does the trick for now. "Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." |

Hehe, people under 25 think you're mad when you try explaining to them that you used to have to load up a game with a cassette, a cassette player, and wait half an hour for it to load! I also remember taping music off the radio and listening to it on my walkman... one day I made the terrible mistake of taping over a Spectrum game. Not realising, I went about my merry business listening to the music, until that part of the recording stopped. Then it suddenly and loudly played Spectrum loading noise down my headphones! Not only did it make me jump, but it really hurt too!! "Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." |

Posted by Lilu Olnathron You're almost right - I'm 24 and I remember when I was about 10 or less and together with my neighbor we were playing on, I guess, Commodore ( it kinda looked like what I see when googling the term, and it used tape ). Loading indeed took long, although as I recall, it was 5-10 minutes, not 30... But maybe the game was weak ( it was ) or I'm just wrong, kids don't have sense of time. I think I myself started on a PC, as I played it in my father's company. Some karate game, some race - game with only rectangles overlapping and Titus the fox. It had amber monitor, that is, it was monochromatic Yellow and black. Then NES and PC again. So weak history ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜ ]>>:-◑} > I'm ℭ₮ℋℰℜℒ☼ℛÐ, I drink Ether on breakfast! ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜ |

Nice history, Elrond. I had ZX Spectrum, too. I had these. I bought all of the in age Pentium II, so all of them cost me less than 10 euros. Commodore 64 ZX Spectrum PMD-81 Apple II Atari 800XL Then my friend gave me one of his two Tantharos computers (8bit computer based on Intel 8008, compatible with Commodore and Apple I / II accessories) - you don't know it? It was made by my friend who couldn't afford PMD-85. Later, I gave all these 8-bits to him. He is now working for a big emulator of all 8bits and their accessories. Then PCs - I hade lots and lots of machines... Maybe I had tried every single platform... But some of thems were special. Now I have IBM ThinkPad T41 - more powerfull than Atom-based netbook, 8hours battery life (it have 15,4" inch display), so though you can use it like a hammer. I also have a 2011 Apple MacBook Air. I won it in some weird car competition. And, in addition, lots of servers. Homemade, Dell, IBM, Lenovo, SuperMicro, Sun... From single Pentium III to quad hexacore Xeons, multiple ARM-based processors... |

Posted by Elrond PMD-85 was 8-bit computer made in the former Czechoslovakia between years 1985 and 1989 or 1990. It's famous for its problems with overheating. Communistic totalitary Czechoslovakia (e. g. Eastern Europe) hadn't enough foreign currency to buy foreign goods (possesion of foreign currency was prohibited for people, state's central bank had a monopoly in possesion of these things), so they had to make them. As many other things, they also had to make their own computers, as PMD-85 (w/ overheating problems), IQ-151 (w/ terrible keyboard), Didaktik and many others. |
