Klaus Badelt

Born in 1960, Klaus Badelt started his musical career writing and producing music for movies and commercials in his native Germany. In 1998, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer invited him to move his musical home to Media Ventures in Santa Monica, California. Since then, Klaus has composed scores for his own film and television projects as well as collaborating with Zimmer and other composers. Among his solo credits are "The Time Machine" (2002), "K19: The Widowmaker" (2002), "The Recruit" (2003), "Basic" (2003), "Equilibrium" (2002), "Ned Kelly" (2003) and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003), and he has contributed additional music to a number of highly successful and popular works such as "The Prince of Egypt" (1998), "The Thin Red Line" (1998), "Gladiator" (2000), "Mission Impossible II" (2000), "Pearl Harbor" (2001) and "The Pledge" (2001).

He did an awesome job with the Soundtrack for "Pirates of the Caribbean". One of the best composers, like Hans Zimmer and others!!!

He did a marvellous job on the score to "Pirates of the Caribbean" and I will certainly keep an eye out for more of his work in the future.

Klaus has a unique way of expressing high adventure through music. He's certainly made the Pirates soundtrack a staple of Americana and a keystone for the rest of his work. Excellent work without question!

One of the members of the so called Hans Zimmer possey (Badelt sound like Zimmer did in his early days). Sometimes its impossible to hear the difference.

Not heard overly much from him but if pirates of the caribean is anything to judge from, then he is great.
