Elijah Wood to appear in The Hobbit

According to our friends over at The One Ring Elijah Wood will make an appearance in the new The Hobbit movie to be produced by Peter Jackson. It will be interesting to see what this appearance will be like and if it would affect the original story in any way.

Are you excited? Do you think it would ruin the original? Spill your guts in the comments below :)

well, since LOTR is supposed to take place 50 years after the Hobbit, I don't think Frodo was even alive at the time of the Hobbit. But maybe it will be a bridge scene between Hobbit & LOTR, or maybe Bilbo will be telling Frodo the story of the Hobbit in flashback. Who knows? I trust PJ not to screw it up.

I think it's a flash-forward of sorts, where Frodo is passing on the Red Book of Westmarch, from which all of these tales come, to Sam and his progeny. It will probably be a very small role.

Yeah, I too trust PJ. It will hopefully just be some short bridge of some sorts. Otherwise there would be rampage in the Tolkien crowd :)

If anything I assume it would be something along the lines of young Frodo going to live with Bilbo at Bag End, at the end of the movie, since Frodo was in his "tweens" at the time.

Or, as maven said, it could start off with Bilbo telling Frodo the story, or possibly Frodo reading There And Back Again.

I will also add that maybe it will be just a bridge, you know, a flashback to past :)
