I must admit that I was tempted. I even went to the Empire site. Thank God, I accidentally scrolled down and read some comments, and someone there brought up a great point: In listening to the score without the visual, those of us with highly active imaginations (you know who you are!) will begin to envision the movie, setting scene by scene in our minds. I would rather be overwhelmed all at once by the genius of Howard Shore, coupled with Uncle PJ's all in one fell swoop.

SO - hard as it is, I shall not yield to temptation, great though it may be...***gollum...gollum....***

That's just silly... I mean, who am I to tell you how to enjoy your films, but believe me this is not a spoiler. Especially when you compare it to, you know, reading the book which actually gives away the entire plot. Honestly I very rarely notice the music in a conscious way when I am watching the actual movie, except for those rare one or two scenes where they pan around the mountains and crank up the music really high. So enjoying the music and enjoying the film are two totally separate things for me. I don't know, maybe you're different.

Temptation smemtation. I'm listening to it right now. Great stuff, very reminiscent (often intentionally) of the LOTR movies. Nothing really leaps out at you - it's obviously meant to sit in the background and "frame the scene" rather take center stage. Very good stuff.

I doubt very much that listening to it would take anything away from the magic of the movie.

I went to the site and it says this stream is no longer available. Sniff...

Don't take "no" for an answer. Google is your friend.
