Lord Elrond, Do you have any limitations as to colors used (i.e. 2 color print vs. a 5 color)? If you are still open to different designs, I'll see what I can come up with for a few options. I've done T-shirt design for other boards and have a local supplier (in Massachussetts, USA) that does a phenominal job and isn't too expensive. I don't know if they ship directly (In the past I've mailed them out personally or hand delivered...heck, always looking for an excuse to cross the drink for our European siblings ).

Here's an example of one I did for a Jeff Burton racing board trip last year:

Front: http://eotw.home.comcast.net/bb_shirt_front_template.jpg

Back: http://eotw.home.comcast.net/bb_shirt_back_template.jpg

One thing to note about this design was that the primary stipulation was that no copyrighted material was to be used. It passed with flying colors and Jeff Burton (yes the driver) loved his shirt.

The shirts we had them printed on were pre-shrunk 100% cotton and the ink hasn't faded for well over 10 washes.

Let me know.

I'm using Café Press and there are no limits on colors, except due to the T-shirt color. Haven't tried the black T-shirt yet though. But I need to redesign my colors a bit for that one.

So just go ahead and try out some stuff on the logo. We cannot have any copyrighted material either... unless we are allowed to print it.

Lord Elrond, does this mean we will be seeing and actually be able to buy a new Tee Shirt in time for the 5th year Anniversary? OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE????????

Sorry, the mugs got us spoiled for "Radio Rivendell" goodies. I always lose myself in Middle-earth here. Need more to show folks that they can get their's and show others! Waiting for the New Design Tee!

Brilliant! I'll get to work on the designs after I finish with work and tuck my princess into bed.

Here is the logo (also available through the Download page): Zipped Photoshop logo.

It's the same logo used on the mugs, T-shirts and webpage. Use it wisely. I retain copyright on it, so don't upload it somewhere and claim you made it yourself. Then I'll set the worgs on you

Out of curiosity, what font family did you use for it? I'd like to use the same font for additional text if that's OK. Thanks!

Respectfully submitting for viewing:

Please note that these images are low-res JPG's. I have everything in .PSD for future use. I also started with a black T-shirt base as I didn't see one in the Merchandise section and Black inherently allows for some nice eye candy.

Great! Nice!

I like the big photo. Is it royalty free? Enought resolution (200DPI)?

I don't really know which font I used, I can check at home.

Friggin Lord Elrond!

Yes the photo is royalty free. I grabbed it from: http://www.freeimages.co.uk based on your request for royalty/copyright free images. You can use any of those images on that site without worry.

As for the font, I'm actually becoming more fond of the Blackadder ITC as I look at it. I'm thinking that font gives a nice contrast to your logo font. What do you think?

The original image is set at 942x706 and my guess is that it's probably set at 72dpi. It's not the greatest quality but I do tweak the daylights out of it to get a nice soft glow in search of that fantastic feel so we might be able to get away with it.

The other thing is that I really killed the quality to be able to shrink these samples down to under 20k apiece for ease of use on the Internet. The PSD has a much higher quality which will help in the screen printing process.

I wouldn't be too sure that you are allowed to use it for printing on t-shirts.

The terms on the page doesn't explicitly allow you to print the images on t-shirts for sale.

It also requires you to print a credit note along with the image.

A quick mail to them asking whether it's allowed or not is probably a good idea.

Actually, I just re-read the terms and so long as we put a credit to their site, there shouldn't be a problem. We can very easily put a credit in small font vertically on the right side of the image so it doesn't detract. I'll whip up a very quick example in a minute.

OK, I have updated the sample with the picture in it to show what it would look like with the credit. IMHO, it doesn't detract and it will certainly meet the requirements from Free Images...

Thoughts?

I want it! Sorry, just got carried away.

That looks awesome! If that is the back and the Banner on the front, well, black works best for the images. That shirt will make heads look twice.

This is getting better and better.

Super size it and that would make great nightshirts too! Oh the mind just boogles with anticipation!

Looks great!

Glad you like! I've always been partial to using black T-shirts as white ones somehow manage to get noticably, and sadly permanently, stained within the first couple of wears. Plus black goes with just about anything! http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/lachen/15.gif

So true! My husband always tells me he can't take me anywhere because I am always wearing my drink or food! This tee gets the go ahead, that baby will be worn with EXTRA CARE! The images are so beautiful! Great work on selecting that woodland pic.

Tell me about it. It seems that no matter how careful my wife or I am, by the end of the day, a stain or two has infultrated the ranks of cleanliness...http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/102.gif

If Lord Elrond still doesn't feel comfortable using that image with the link, then I'm sure I can find another picture to use, even if I have to go take one myself. Actually, now that I think about it, I do have some from the woods near my house that I took last September-ish. I could try those. I know I have some of the streams here. Hmmmm...gerbils are running sprints now between my ears...http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/39.gif

I just did!

New Hampshire woods are awesome all year! All 4 seasons!

You better take care of those Gerbils!

Have Lord Elrond view your woodland pics. Rivendell is global! Maybe he might have some woodland pics of Sweden? Trees are so universal.

Love the effect for the back of the shirt.

Hmmm...you have stumbled across an interesting concept witchywanda...perhaps Lord Elrond could offer different versions of the shirt. In otherwords, have the same design, but with different scenery in the picture. To take it one step further, have a scene for the different locations that members are from (i.e. 1 from the US, 1 from the UK, 1 from Sweeden, etc.). It would really add to the "collectability" of them (Collect them all!!!).

witchywanda
(Level 20)

A whole wardrobe of RR Tees! I would be like Shaggy on Scooby Doo!

A RR shirt for every day of the week, all year! Rivendell in many countries! The scene would be different on the back, but it would show Middle-earth all over the world! Oh, that is good!

Well, Trees are global, so many forests out there, always a Rivendell in your part of Middle-earth. You have your UK forests, European Forests, Scandinavian forests, the concept keeps growing!

The power of photos!
