Have we considered putting together a digital album in lieu of the long-delayed-3rd-CD? Works better for me since I just rip the CD, anyway. It would seem to be a relatively trivial task to get 10-15 artists to agree to let their music be part of the project, get a little community art-work for the "Album Cover", and post it up in the store for @$5.
I'm sure Waerloga is a great company, but once you consider the non-physical route, the barriers to knocking it out shrink to pretty small, no?

Yes, next CD will be probably be digital. Even Waerloga thinks this is a good idea. And also much cheaper to produce, and I don't have to pay for lots of plastic that just sits here under my desk

Maybe you can put your own CD up like that, as well. In this day and age, it seems silly to pay postage from Sweden for something I'm just going to rip and store in my closet.

I'll kindly ask if you could make sure to use high-quality audio formats.
If possible FLAC -> Musepack -> Vorbis -> MP3 in order of preference. Avoid AAC and MP4 like the plague, their psychoacoustic is horrible, and a friend of mine had the bad surprise to have his iTune ( or was it iPod ? Well, it was from Apple at any rate ) software encrypt all his mp4 files without his knowledge, rendering them unrecoverable after a crash.

I've agreed to put both compilations and Gargrim on Spotify as well. I hope we end up on iTunes and the likes as well. iTunes now have better quality right? Paying for postage sucks, and it's a rather tedious process of printing lables, stamping envelops and getting everything into the correct envelope

iTunes is good. Maybe you can do Amazon, too. They have a nice DRM-free distribution platform. In the States, we can't get Spotify due to a heavy infestation of evil lawyers. Pandora may be the closest equivalent.

I'll see what I can do for iTunes. That one probably has the biggest spread worldwide.
Haha, yes, it's quite funny with all the services and all the lawyers trying to stop the world. Hey you guys, we want to listen to your artists and buy music, now you are just making your own and the artists lives much tougher since you try to fend off your own customers. Quite funny actually
I hope Spotify makes it over there, it's a great service!

By strange coincidence, one day after I posted that we don't get to have Spotify, they appear to have gotten their legal ducks in a row and are now taking invite requests. Let's hope this doesn't turn back into vapor ...

Wow! This is great news! I'm crossing my fingers! I love it and it's the only music source I have, except for some Last FM now and then.

Even though I find mp3's also practically, I still prefer a real cd. I just like to have something in my hand and to read in a real booklet. Should there be the next compilation only as mp3, I'll buy myself a copy anyway.

Yeah, CDs are quite lovely and it feels as if you get something more. Though the cost to start producing is quite high unfortunately. We'll see

A solution would perhaps be to offer the cd at first only digital. If it sells well you can still produce real cd's.
