I'm not very current on my video games. When I finally got around to trying The Witcher 2, the theme music sounded familiar to me. https://on.soundcloud.com/7XiX5 It has a very distinctive, lilting melody in 6|8 time. It reminded me of a song I've heard on Radio Rivendell for years. https://on.soundcloud.com/rCpSB This song is Dusk of Katan and it's from an MMO called Rappelz, which first came out in 2006. The Witcher 2 was published in 2011. The tunes are nearly identical. I can't see it being a coincidence. Has anyone noticed this before?

Wow, that is quite the musical memory! Despite my musical background from a longgg time ago (about 30 years ago), I've found many harmonies and themes to be heavily reused (it's also kind of natural considering the history of music and all the influences and creations out there). I wonder if the composer of Dusk of Katan has ever pursued any action, but I'd say it's difficult because it's always hard to improve direct intent of plagiarism in the music realm. I HAVE heard some obvious and blatant rip-offs...happens quite a bit in game platforms (as opposed to independent games), especially amongst creators trying to make a quick buck. Adam Skorupa is quite the name, so I'd say he wouldn't want the bad publicity had he blatantly ripped off that track. I've even heard people accuse names like Jeremy Soule (see https://steamcommunity.com/app/291650/discussions/0/618458030665553230/?l=french&fp=2&ctp=3).

Yeah. It happens all the time. Everyone knows the famous examples: George Harrison, Led Zeppelin, etc. David Bennett covers it pretty regularly on his Youtube channel. He's done lots of videos where he's analyzed dozens of tracks. I think a lot of artists figure they've reached a point of diminishing returns and choose not to pursue it.
