Hi all! Thanks to the age of AI we can progress sooooo much quicker with the next version of Radio Rivendell! The robotic elves are hard at working rebuilding the whole site, community and radio from scratch, right now! Now that everything is possible, what would you like to see? I'm working on the following: - Importing the whole forum with posts threads and all, we won't lose a thing - Polls are back! - Levels are back! With more fun and advanced tiers featuring - XP and level up sounds are back! - The chat is back! - A completely new radio player built into the site where you can like, comment and request new tracks! - Our three channels available from the start! Yes, if you have missed it, we're now sporting the main Radio Rivendell, The Green Dragon for our tavern soundtrack and Lórien for the more vocal tracks. - Nice onboarding for new members - Choose your race, gender, roll your abilities etc! - And much more! What else would you like to see? Your wildest dreams are actually quite possible!

This is amazing! I think you covered a lot of what I wanted to see come back or continue... Posts, threads, polls, XP/levels (this may need a revamping, too), chat, ratings, comments, requests, etc. I didn't realize this site used to have level-up sounds! I could think of many features I'd like added or returned (guilds, non-AI art contributions as a separate section...there could be an AI art share in the forums, music collaborations, interviews, etc.). But one thing I've always wanted to see is tags and possibly tag voting. For example, a listener (especially a new one) may not have a distinct song or album in mind. But that listener may have a *mood* in mind. Tracks could be tagged with moods, genres, affiliations with creative works (games, movies, books, etc.), themes, etc. Example moods: Aggressive, animated, atmospheric, austere, bittersweet, brash, calm, capricious, etc. Example genres: Dungeon synth, fantasy ambient, Medieval folk, dark ambient, orchestral, video game, etc. Example themes: Elven ethereal, tavern & folk, epic, fantasy wilderness, battle, dungeons, Celtic folklore, etc.

Great ideas! I had forgotten about our interviews, we'll bring them back up to the surface again too! How would we want to tag things, you mean the music? It could be a good thing to do to be able to move tracks between our channels too.

Yep! Basically, let's say there is a new song that has not been played on RR yet. You could add tags (one or more) to that song based on its mood, theme, genre, or creative-work affiliation (games, movies, TV shows, books, etc.). Based on how complex you wish that feature to get (probably based on how many listeners), you could even allow listeners to tag songs or even vote on tags (whether to add appropriate tags or to remove tags they don't think are appropriate). The idea is that some listeners might wish to listen to at least one song of a particular mood (or genre, theme, etc.). They could search by tags to find something that fits. Then they can request a song with that tag and see what they think. Who knows, if certain tags are popular enough, you could even create more channels based on them (in addition to the Main, The Green Dragon, and Lórien channels. I'm really curious about rolling for abilities and developing a deeper persona!

Aaah, now I'm with you completely! Sounds interesting! Itlso generates a new way to get XP too! I've built the levels a little like incentive to complete the profile more in order to get more access and functions. You can however get more or less all you need from starting up with name, race, avatar, gender, short description etc. Then you roll your abilities and continue exploring Perhaps next step is to start disabling this old site and then get the new groove on as soon as possible and build and improve it instead of waiting too much. What do you think?

I've also noticed this old site is too crippled already... you cannot have line breaks in forum posts and setting a new avatar is broken

Yes, I think starting up the new site, testing, and then slowly decommissioning this one as the new one becomes operational is probably the best idea. And perhaps there are software engineers/developers like me who can help in some way, even if it's mostly discussions on architecture, design patterns, suggested features, outright code, etc. I know AI agents are getting better at these things, but they aren't always good at seeing the big picture or keeping a large context.
