I've started to work a bit on the first official Radio Rivendell CD! It will hopefully be released during this year as a part in ouf five year anniversary. Post all your artist and song nominations together with url where I can get in tough with the artists (we need full rights for this thing or we'll get sued big time ) http://www.radiorivendell.com/images/mixed/rivendell_cd_1.jpg

Great idea. The cover reminds me a little bit on the "Baldures Gate" ? cover, in spite of it good. First of all i think the founder of RR belongs to the CD: Cryo - Rising from the ashes

The cover looks great. I'd love if the CD includes a booklet with some information about all the artists that appear on the disc. And a piece of history would look great in a more paperlike cover instead of a normal boring jewelcase. Something like this http://www.takt.com.pl/images/opak/duze/dig_8s.jpg Oh, and i second Daimonions nomination.

Anything by Helen Trevillion, I love her music. http://destiny-hikari.net I second that, all her songs are beautiful... But if I had to pick one, I'd either choose "Ash Rose", "A Elbereth Gilthoniel" (Instrumental version, I think that the lyrics are copyrighted to Tolkien) or "Stepping Stones". I'd also nominate Margaret Davis... "The Rosebuds In June" is just beautiful... Margaret Davis website: http://www.flowinglass.com/princess/index.html

My all-time favorites of hers are "Dream of the Innocent" & "The Mermaid". Mermaid actually won an RR award this year, so it should definitely go on the CD!

Excellent point maven! All the songs that won an award should be on the CD if possible.

A booklet will probably be included! We'll see what we can fit in there! Since I will be making this in a quite small scale (I don't own a CD plant, duh ) so do you guys know of other options rather than jewel cases for homebrewing? Jewelcases are boring, but cheap. Oh and one more thing! We will put a photocompetition here too!! So get out in the woods and snap photos. Then we'll vote and the best photograph will make it to the cover. I haven't decided yet if it should be on the whole front, but perhaps. Suggestions?

Music so far: Cryo - Rising From the Ashes (cleared, artists has agreed) Paul Houseman - "anything" (not asked artist yet) Helen Trevillion - The Mermaid Part I: The Storm I'd nominate Sean Beeson (pretty much anything), Markus Höller (About Kings and Dragons) and Erdenstern if they agree. Anyone else has suggestions?

Oh, right. The CD would only be in a limited edition. I think most alternative covers have a minimum order of atleast 500 (for the alternatives that are better than jewelcase). For jewelcase I think you can get away with a 100 piece order. Any idea on how many you'll be able to sell? And pricerange you'd like to sell them at? I'd like to see something by Tincolindo on there. Perhaps "Death of the Hero".

Another suggestion is Vintermusikk - Escape from the dragon's lair

Maybe this should be a new topic, but here's an entry for the photo contest: I took it at Hogsback, South Africa a few years ago...actually a place where J.R.R. Tolkien spent some of his early childhood. The area was said to have inspired the creation of Middle Earth http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/sw/swanky/Hogsback1.jpg

Great picture! Love it! Daniel, you had some pictures of some nice little brooks behind your house? 500 covers? Yikes, don't think we'll sell that many no Perhaps we'll stick with the boring old jewel cases. The price tag will be quite low, we'll see how much cases, CDs and covers will cost. Just a really wild guess, 10-12 USD? Plus postage and packing. Hopefully lower, we'll see.

We should be able to fit in 10-15 songs on there. And shouldn't we have a cool intro? Of course!
