The Hobbit in 3D?

There are speculations that The Hobbit will be filmed in 3D, but nothing is confirmed (or denied). It may have to do with the success of films such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland that talks about making it in 3D have begun. But still yet nothing is more than rumours.

Reporting for Slice of SciFi, Michael Hickerson says "The Hobbit” Will Begin Filming in July. Filming on “The Hobbit” is set to begin this summer, according to a report on Coming Soon. Actor Ian McKellan spilled the beans on his web site, saying the movie would begin filming in June. The update was later changed to July. Directed by Guillermo Del Toro, production is expected to take at least a year and for two movies.
