New poll - going indie?

Since we are threatened to pay extremely high license fees we are thinking of going indie, getting rid of all the commercial music. What do you think of this? Sure, we'll loose a lot of our music, but we'd still be here.

This would only effect any servers that you stream from in the US. Others would be under any guidelines established in those countries(which are probably different). If you have servers that are based in the US, then yes, you'll have to pay fees, or change. If you have servers based in other countries, why not just direct the American listeners to the links for those servers, and just shut down the American based ones.

If you do more the servers to another country. I recommend Canada as Internet-Radio is a free service. This is why most radio stations i listen to are in Canada.

I will ever listen to RR. It's such a fine place here.

But whats a Fantasy-Station without the music of LOTR, Harry Potter and so on?

It would be sad if all these good music would be removed from the station

I'll tell you something - if it wasn't for RR, I'd still be sitting in my room turing out music only a few of my friends listened to, and probably would have given up a long time ago. As it is, RR gave me the platform I needed to get heard, and now I have fans from all over the world, and whereas I could once count the number of fans I had on one hand, I have now lost count of the amount of people that have added me to my favourites or have downloaded my songs. You keep playing, we'll keep listening. And composing. :D
