I used to do regularly, playing mostly Runequest, Vampire Masquerade, Cyberpunk and The Five Rings. Inever played D&D though, but I always wanted to ;(.
Since I moved to England I didn't play a thing, as I don't know role playing groups near home. Hoperfully I will meet some people and start again!

Indeed, I have since I was 12 and I'm almost 45 now! In fact, I organize as a volunteer for conventions. www.comicpalooza.com

I have always loved tabletop games and have played more different types of games than I can enumerate. However, I rolled my first D20 in 1976 and have been rolling those wierd dice ever since.

While I have played, and enjoyed computer games, I find the format both too expansive and too restrictive. It is restrictive because unless the program will allow you to do something, you can't do it. It's too expansive in that every generation increases the eye candy and twitch factor to keep customers coming back for more. Therefore, you have to constantly change - not because of any inherent and physically needed reason, but because the software has changed and the player must adapt.

A good social RPG requires some adaptation (4E D&D is WAAAAYYY different from the original game), the true interactions are between people who are sharing a story and an adventure. And the best part of RPG is the shared experience (although phat lootz is nice too).

So, until the computer truly allows shared and intimately imaginative experriences that happen around a table, (and I don't see that happening for quite a while yet), I will still be grabbing my bag of dice and playing at the table.

Keehra, did you really meet your wife RPGing? That is awesome. Maybe there's a Match.com for players.
