If Fantasy-Esque Dragons Were Real...

I was forced to sit through some class presentations today just for the attendance marks, so I ended up texting my boyfriend and talking about dragons, after hearing he finally got this dragon from the new WoW expansion or something (I don’t really know). So he decided that if dragons were real, he would want one that’s not huge, but still large enough to ride. I personally can’t decide. I really like the idea of a tiny dragon, a tiny silvery-blue one that blows bubbles (however impossible that might be in the real world). On the other hand, the idea of riding a dragon is really alluring. I’m just torn. Anyway, if dragons were real, what qualities would you want in your draconian friend?

I would like a medium female dragon. Golden or Silver, very intelligent and gracefull, one that also speaks common. I would consider her a friend. I don't like the idea of riding them. I don't know, seems off place... Too majestic to be imagined with a saddle and too intelligent to find someone overpowering that ego.
I have a whip of banning (+3magic) and I 'm not afraid to use it!

I'd want several -- one tiny one to sit on my shoulder, another larger one to safeguard the house, and an even larger one I could ride.

But i thought Dragons were real ?? What is that "If". I've killed so many Dragons lately. I'm the Dovakhiin, u don't wanna mess with me! I have cool elvish armor and a bag full of spells. Time to collect the next soul. FUS-RO-DAH !!!

No seriously, Dragons are not that kind of a fiction to me. Dinosaurs existed in the past, so a flying Dinosaur is not much of deal if you think about it. I do really believe that Dragons existed. With the massive extinction of all Dinosaur-like species, so they've disappeared too. Simple logic.

I'd prefer something like a raptor. No wings but really fast and agile. Of course he has to be mountable. And his most useful ability would be to recognise me as his master and friend. So that he would never eat me by instict or something.

I'd like wise great silver/golden dragon like Ioanna as a friend. I wouldn't keep him/her at home (my house is too small and I don't have time and money to feed and train it), I'd rather visit him/her on some kind of cave, not next to my house but close enought to get there on foot. You may see that I wouldn't own a dragon, but to have dragon as a very good friend. Riding it may be possible, I can imagine dragon taking me to school or work when I miss the bus. I don't see dragonriding as having a dragon slave, but as some kind of friendship act, when you ride the dragon not because you're its master but because you both want to...like when you have a cat.

What qualities would I want in my draconian friend? I would want a great big blue male dragon. He should be scary looking, and able to shoot lightning, but also my loyal friend. My dragon should love adventure and hunting (because there is no way I can afford to feed such a monster!). And, yes, we would have a special bond... not telepathy, but just sensing what the other is feeling intuitively, or when the other is in danger.

If dragons were real, I think they'd probably roast most everyone. I certainly wouldn't be riding any of them -- y'know, just in case.

Interesting idea. When I'm thinking about it, fantasy dragons as wise as world would really burn most of people because stupidity and many other things, but on the other hand, in that case they'd choose well who they burn and that can make mankind better. But still, I don't want a dragon to be my master and I don't have any idea how to make people and dragons to live at one world in peace...

If I had a dragon, on winters I would change my wood/coal to sheep based heating system. On the rest of the year I would probably hire it out to get money for the sheep farm.
