Sir Eldon would have never believed it had he not seen it for himself- The floating castle known only as Kheldron’s Bastion. The sorcerous feel of the land got under the wandering knight’s armor, tingling his skin, letting him know that there was more to this land than met the eye. The trees that frequented the nearby hilllsides were locked in a permanent state of mid-autumn, despite the fact that spring had blossomed amid the other lands, leaves of various shades of red, gold and orange soared through the air, carried by the whimsical breeze that chilled the air with the icy touch of the first frost. The realm was a mystery as it defied the world around it, and at its center was Kheldron’s Bastion- a magnificent floating castle of immense size, perched upon a mote of earth the size of a small hill that was in and of itself chained to the earth by great links that appeared as though giants had fashioned them to keep the great fortress from being carried away with the wind. There was an ominous feeling about the floating bastion as countless predatory birds swarmed about its alabaster walls as though daring anyone to venture too close. Eldon shook his head as he steered his wary warmount toward the suspended structure, quickly noticing that the castle wasn’t the only thing afloat, but was accompanied by dozens of boulders that surrounded the base like some sort of uncanny defense against any attacks that might come from the ground. Though he questioned his presence in that place of unforeseen magic, it was certain that he had come to the right place. It was here that he was sent by the Council of Illythion to confer with Ezdra Dalynar the sage of Isthanduin concerning the rise of Blackran Bloodfaug the ancient dragon of death. His unstoppable wrath had already turned much of the Vestlunds into a charnel realm, filled with the foulest creatures to plague the shadows. If anyone knew how to stop this foul abomination and send it back to the pit from which it came, it was Ezdra. If he didn’t then Sir Eldon knew that doom would come to them all. I hope you enjoyed Kheldron's Bastion. It was taken from my journal for everyone to enjoy; if you want to read more if this or one of my other stories, let me know and I'll try to add to them, aside from that this was merely done for practice. Thanks for reading.
