Help Radio Rivendell!

Me and a lot of people in the world have a PSP. However, we can't play radio rivendell or even open the website through our PSP's. We keep getting some DNS errors. If you could get this Internet Radio station for more hand held devices, I'm sure more people will be able to enjoy radio rivendell on the go.

Hmm, that sounds odd. I guess the webpage is a little more advanced than the PSP can handle. Aren't there any apps for webradio?

I just tested web & webplayer on my old HP iPAQ with WM 6.5 and it runs well. By the way, I also tested it on twenty-years-old computer with Windows 98 and it worked, too!

If you root your PSP and put a CFW on it you can tune into the stream easily. If not... http://pspradio.co.uk/ check that out. I used a (much) older version of it that let you input the URL directly. I used to dabble with many different forms of shoutcast streams. Now I haven't tested this one (below here). It looks very promising. You can go right to radiorivendell.com through it, click the listen link to download the .pls and it will impregnate the player with the .pls instructions. Supposedly. http://www.djuneq.com/pspdownloads.html I hold no responsibility if any of this breaks your psp. I own a Fat, and 2 slims. One of my slims holds 64 gigs of games, music and homebrew apps on 2 32gig microSD cards fit into a Dual MicroSD Card to Pro Duo adapter. Big fan of the Playstation Portable.

Yeah, making it play on a PSP should probably be pretty "easy" if you have an app for it. I cannot do that, but I can direct you to the best URLs

Check out our new generic ones here: http://www.radiorivendell.com/page/playlists-in-other-formats/

i have downloaded plug ins for it, and still doesn't work. I think its just my bad internet since i kinda live in the middle of nowhere. Always had trouble loading websites on my psp. Oh well least i still got a desktop to listen to this music. Lol the new modem i got doesn't allow psp to connect under any circumstances even if i enter the wep key. Gotta love at&t >.>

Aah, that sounds like a provider issue then Our aim otherwise is to provide as many ways as possible to listen to us! If you run into a format that we might support, just holler! Our MP3 and AAC+ streams could possibly be wrapped in more ways than we have now

I would also like to recommend spotting 50 dollars and purchasing a router, and configuring it to handle the DHCP/Static IP assignments as you see fit, that way you can set WEP and get the PSP up and running. Don't forget to keep the firmware up to date. The newer firmwares handle keys better than the older ones. Sorry about your ISP not being that great. Good luck!
