Here's a link to my Deviant Art page that I put all the little pictures I've done, all of which were (originally) done on MS Paint and then I went and did some Photoshopy things to them. I don't have the best hand for art, but it's a fun thing I enjoy doing from time to time.

There is no such thing as "a hand for art". But there are experienced and inexperienced people with art. Keep up the good work. Never give up, never surrender!!! Also welcome to our little community, hope to see you around in the forums.

Well, I've definitely put more time into my music than into my art, so I have only a pretty terse amount of experience drawing things. One of my best friends was an art major and works as a toy/game designer and I occasionally go with him to the local college to weekly drawing sessions; mostly drawing models who pose in various states of undress. All things considered, I do an OK job. My biggest weakness, I think, is my inability to really visualize what I want to draw, so I never know where to start. I also seem to get confounded by the concepts of depth and layers. For example, I draw one of the models and her arms are crossed, I often find that I draw the "wrong" arm first and have to go back and erase parts so it doesn't look like she has a transparent arm.

Hands are confusing to me, too... I used to leave the sketch without even trying to draw them.

Erasing isn't a bad thing. It means you'll have the right positioning on the part that will be underneath. Try a light pencil, sketching from background to the front, and then ink or paint from front to back.

Hey there Musicalchemist ! Welcome! I've seen your work ! Nice ! As for everything I've read above, just draw by heart. Try, and try and try, and erase, and keep on going, is the only way ! You are doing great !
