Just wanna jump in and shout out a hearty "Here, here!" for Dungeon World!

I shall come back with memories of opal seas and sapphire skies a thousand winds upon my lips a thousand strangers in my eyes I shall come back with fragrant tales of glamour in an alien land where shadow-fingered twilight sifts the golden stars li

A D&D 2nd Edition in the Forgotten Realms (almost all the time and occasionally some other settings) since 1989 with interruptions. I started my career in roleplaying games with this system & setting and have never stopped loving to Dungeon Master and even playing it on occasion. Even though I'd like to play more and DM less. Started out with Shadowrun 2 and Das Schwarze Auge (The Dark Eye) 2nd Edition, which I've been playing both for several years and currently playing 4th Edition each. I've been acquainted with a group for each system and stayed with those games mostly because I like the game worlds too much to leave them. Although I very much dislike the amount of rules in both 4th editions and the changes in the gameworld in Shadowrun 4 compared to 2. Have been playing Dea'Nura, Vampire the Masquerade (live and pen&paper), Titans, Earthdawn and Deadlands for some years. I got into Dea'Nura because some former acquaintances asked me if I wanted to join. With Vampire there was a group around and I thought "Why not? Let's try it out." As for the other systems, the Shadowrun- and Das Schwarze Auge-group wanted to play other systems and I stayed, except with Titans where I rejoined the Auge-group after a longer pause. Over the years I tried out about a dozen different systems, among them for example Ratten! (Rats!), Hollow Earth Expedition, Savage World and Paranoia. But nothing peaked my interest enough to stay with or form a group and play them. Started yet another A D&D 2 campaign and also joined a table of a Star Wars - Edge of the Empire group a couple of months ago. With Edge I hope of finally being able to play a Han Solo/Malcolm Reynolds-type of pilot/freighter captain (of course less awesome than either one ....) for more than four sessions, as it was in a Warhammer 40 000 group. Sometime soon I'll have my first session as a player at a Splittermond (translated: Splintermoon) table. In my desire to play more pen&paper roleplaying and less computer games I got an offer and took it. Still don't know if I like the system though.

"Games are an interesting diversion from everyday life. Games give you a chance to excel, and if you're playing in good company, you don't even mind you lose because you had the enjoyment of the company during the course of the game." Gary Gygax
