Alright, here's the bad guy du jour (round 1) -- plenty more where this guy comes from, so don't worry if you don't like him, you can just tell me and I'll toss another one out. (Also, bad guy du jour round 2 is a woman if you want me to introduce her early... she's not strictly evil, per se, so that would not be like having two bad guys all at once.) Name: Braesin Cruxir ("Blessed Crossing" in an ancient tongue) Race: Lich (former half-elf) Age: Unknown. Extremely old. Height: 5'9" Equipment: Braesin does not carry any artifacts of significance -- he channels his magical energy through his own body Base Look: Braesin dresses in attire worthy of royalty -- complete with a bejeweled crown and flowing cape. Pet: Braesin has no pets, although he does refer to his army of undead with some terms of affection such as "my pets". Brief History: ((Most of the rest of Braesin's history I'll reveal over the course of the RP, if you guys are smart enough to find it. ;D This is just what is "commonly known". Also, some of this may not actually be true.... but again, you would have to find that out!)) Legend says Braesin was the first half-elf the world had ever seen. The gods blessed him, believing it would promote harmony across the world -- and thus Braesin Cruxir led a charmed life, for someone who was the only member of his race anyways. But children can be cruel, and Braesin grew up teased and abandoned by the other children. Seeking friends, he discovered a natural aptitude for magic -- moreso than even other elves -- and in particular a penchant for necromancy. Summoning the corpses of the fallen, Braesin destroyed his hometown in a fit of adolescent rage. The legend says the gods punished Braesin by stripping him of his soul -- others insist these actions prove he had never had one to begin with. Both blessed and cursed by the same gods, Braesin became a twisted abomination -- something of which there are few descriptions except that "It was horrible" in the histories. Unable to actually end his own life (reports vary on the reasons why, but most agree the "blessing" the gods had bestowed upon him at birth was responsible), Braesin slowly descended deeper into madness. Finally, Braesin crafted a necromantic ritual that would allow him to overcome the curse upon him -- and thus, he became a lich. Unlike other liches, Braesin had no need of a phylactery to store his soul within. Many of Braesin's horrendous actions since have been recorded into legend and history, but the truth is he has proven himself to be one of the most vile entities the world has ever seen. In some cultures, it is bad luck to even speak his name. Brief Overall Description: Braesin appears to be a fairly ordinary lich, a well-dress skeletal figure with an aura of powerful magic. In truth, Braesin is much crueler than most liches (or, really, anyone) and time has done little to aid in his sanity. He now believes that, if the gods thought he would bring harmony between the mortal races of the world, his punishment to them should be to cause infinite chaos and war.

Ok Here is what I've come up with Name: People call me Lyra now Race: Half-elf Age: Adult Height: Barelly 5.6ft Equipment: A beautifull wooden Flute, a Short sword, Water flask, a whip Base Look: Long straight Blonde hair, light green eyes and a face almost childish. Brown leather pants and shoulders and a white shirt. Also a green cloak with hood. Pet: None Brief History: It has now been several months that I woke up in a forest with no memory at all and a horible pain on my head. I have been discovering myself since then. All I found out was that I have a keen talent for music, talking and some times a bit of magic?? Brief Overal description: Due to her lack of memory she is very quiet and distant but has started to unwrap a more social and witty personality. A cute little thing that can smooth talk, impress or anger just about anyone is lying underneath, but needs some work to it... The only thing that comes very naturall to her is play her flute... What do you think?

I expect Braesin has an extra special amount of dislike towards other half-elves... and one who has no memory could be lots of fun!

Yeah amnesia is commonly used because it's so convinient not to know a thing!!

It's also a good way to unwrap a story...

My main language is Spanish so expect some grammar errors. Name: Deurtis Race: Human? Age: Young Adult Height: 6'1" Equipment: A book he always carries (Holds dark magical knowledge, not for battle), his staff and a dagger (for rituals). Base Look: He has black hair and grey eyes. He uses a red robe and wears a ritual mask that hides half his face. Pet: A crow named Arawn. Very intelligent. Brief History: Deurtis was a very respected mage among the people of his hometown. He was quite skilled and his mentors from the mage guild predicted he would eventually replace them and become the Archmage of the guild. And he would, hadn’t the demon attacked. Nothael was its name. The village had fought before against lesser kinds of demons and otherworldly beings, but none of them were compared to Nothael. He killed half of the village population in one day. The mage guild masters fought him fiercely, but only managed to weaken him. Seeing his masters killed, Deurtis challenged the demon for a final duel. The demon, now weakened, was a just match for him. The battle took place at the top of the guild’s tower, which was almost in ruins. Only he came out of the tower alive, but the body of the demon was never found. Some villagers say that the demon won the fight, possessing his body. Others say that he trapped the demon within his body, thinking it was the only way to defeat him. Whatever the case, Deurtis became stranger and stranger, performing blood rituals and wearing a mask. Eventually, he left, never coming back. Brief Overall Description: He doesn’t talk much, unless necessary. Sometimes he can be very calm and even friendly. Others however, he is very creepy and strange. Also, he whispers a lot to his crow. This is my first RP ever… so please tell me if I should change something ^^

Well I have done many RP's and am an amateur writer. I never lead, narrated an Rp before but I am willing to give it a shot.

Basically what we need is a story-line. We can have a character pull the story or we can roll a narrator that sets - up events for the characters to respond on it this last case it is best that the Story leader is also the bad guy (with no forward description so he comes to life during the story, in order to play to the characters strengths and weaknesses). The bad guy that already rolled can still be in as (Lich in human Form) Contagonist (A character that works against the party of heroes in a unobvious way, he seems to be one of them but in fact is a supporter or agent of the villain) If you like I could give it a shot.

I propose the following:

I start a new thread (with the title of the story) and get the story going. I will assign each one of you a core role found in almost all fantasy stories construct. The so called archetypes: Protagonist (he is the unofficial leader of the group and sets the group in motion towards a goal), Contagonist (He is the prime agent of the Villain and works against the group, in this story he works as an undercover that does everything to keep the group from getting to their goal without being uncovered, until the climax that is), Antagonist (The prime villain), Skeptic (This character is convinced that the evil must be defeated but he openly questions the protagonist's methods), Emotion (this character sees the world trough it's emotions, he or she confronts all obstacles trough an emotional way), Reason (He or she confronts all obstacles trough the way of reason, he or she is the voice of logic and reason for the group), Guardian (He or she is the wisest of the group, he or she knows thing about the world others don't, he is the primary guide of the protagonist when it comes to choosing paths), Side-kick (He or she is the Protagonist's most loyal supporter and he or she will do nearly anything to get the Protagonist to his or her goal)

So here is my suggestion for the roles:

Protagonist: Barin (He started this thread + he seems quite mysterious)

Contagonist: Braesin Cruxir (for obvious reasons  )

Antagonist: Me (narrator and villain to get the story to go somewhere)

Skeptic: Deurtis (This can work very well since the back-story of this guy is pretty grim his motivations towards the world are very different than any other character – is he a demon, is that why he is so different, is that why he questions the groups methods?)

Emotion: Lyra (Music is a very emotional form of art. As she confronts obstacles with music it seems a perfect Emotion character. Perhaps she rather feels trough problems with hearth and soul. )

Reason: SeĂĄnarr (Seems to be a smart character and one of the only that is actually send on a mission by a group of his peers. The reason seems clear he is very capable. Could it be he thinks trough problems and confronts them logically?)

Guardian: Dorgat Hiddmiron Mashna (He seems to have a rich background story and the character knows a lot about the world (his world at the very least) which makes him a valuable source of tactics, monsters, lore and what not, he seems a perfect guide)

Side-Kick: Berroc Battlehammer (Seems an open minded character with a strong will. Perhaps he and Barin met before and are very good friends? Perhaps they both trust each other to such an extent they would lay their lives down for one another?)

What do you guy’s think, should I start an introduction scene? I already have a fairly good idea and am willing to take you lot on a journey. 

The only thing about having Braesin be a contagonist is that he's kind of.... obviously a bad guy, y'know? What with the being a lich? Also, he's not really a "works for other people" kind of person, so much as a "raise an army of undead to do my every bidding" kind of person. I can toss another, more subtle baddie out for ya if you'd prefer it. We can have Braesin on the back burner for a later story arc though!
