John Johnson sits quietly in his seat as he patiently waits for the boat to finally make it through the storm and reach the port. As he looks over to the gruff women beside him he stretches out his hand and says "Hi my names John Johnson, whats yours?"
The storm outside begins to pick up and if one were to listen closely you could hear the wind slamming into the hull of the ship. Up on the command deck the captain is looking about nervously as he watches the navigation instruments glitch and malfunction "God help us" escapes his lips as a large wave begins to form in front of the ship.
A young man sits quietly at a table in the dining area drinking coffee and playing video games on his iPad. His grey eyes are so focused on the game that he seems oblivious to the storm raging outside. Running a hand through his short brown hair, he furrows his brow on concentration. The man folds his hands at face level, resting his elbows on the table and rests his chin on his fingers. His well toned muscles can be seen out the side of his t-shirt.
"I am so screwed," he mutters under his breath.

Next to Johnson sits an athletic mexican looking woman, maybe in her early thirties. Her hair is cut short and she is dressed in khaki shorts and black hoodie with an with an insignia of U.S. Army on the right side and picture of white eagle with yellow text saying Airborn above it on the left side. In front of her she has half eaten piece of blueberry pie and an empty tea mug. She stares out of the window and seems rather unfazed by the storm. With Johnson's words he calmly turns to look at the man.
"Hmm... Me? I am captain Vesper Rodrigues", she introduces herself and grips the offered hand firmly. "Quite refreshing weather outside, isn't it? I was starting to get tired with the everlasting heat", she grins showing her white teeth. She actually seems a bit exited about the storm raging outside the ship.

John Johnson turns his head to look out into the sea "Oh.....my well it is quite refreshing from the heat...not sure its entirely better but at least refreshing." He turns his attention back to Vesper and gives her a grin "Airborn hm? What was it like?"
"Is", she corrects glancing at his companion. "I'm on a holiday", she says 'holiday' as it was the worst thing that had happened to her on this century.
"101st Airborne Division. I fly choppers. Couldn't imagine doing anything else", she seems to be very proud of her job and flashes John a charming smile.
The distressed muttering makes Vesper turn her look at the young man on the other side of the table. "Are you ok there sir?" she frowns and the worry in her voice is sincere.

At the same time a woman in her forties enters the dining area, heads straight for the bar and takes a sit.
With a cigarette in her mouth that she hasn't lit yet, she orders a drink "Jin and tonik, darling." says to the cute bartender... "Make it a bit strong since I m not allowed to light my cigarete in here..."
She has a cell phone in her hand and tries to make some calls ... "Damn, no signal... Come on..." she mutters...
Her drink arrives and with her first sip she looks out of the window....

Looks outside and notices quite a few waves going by "Hm...thats odd." he thinks to himself. As he turns to Vesper he stands politely asking "Excuse me." and then quickly makes his way to where the captain is.
Outside the sea is turning and the waves are getting increasingly worse, not a minute goes by without a lot of lightning and the wind picks up. The captain begins to get very nervous and calls for his radio man to send out a warning signal and, if need be a SOS.
The young man is sitting in front of his iPad remains oblivious to his surroundings as he stares at the message on his screen, "Disconnected from Server!" Looking up for the first time in close to an hour he catches his breath while watching a wave go by the window.
"Disconnected," he says under his breath, "it's a wonder I was able to stay connected so long." Staring out the window in disbelief, his look turns to one of curiosity. He get up and starts heading towards the window for a better look and thinks better of it as the lightning intensifies. Suddenly noticing Vesper sitting not far from he comments with a grin, "quite the balmy day out there isn't it?"

As John makes his way out onto the deck he gets instantly soaked with water, as he looks about watching the sea rage and the lightning flash he begins to laugh, his laugh seems odd in a situation like this...almost suspicious. He quickly turns and heads back inside, headed for his seat, he obviously notices the man talking with Vesper and smirks.
Outside a huge wave begins to form, rscing towards the ship. At the same time all power shuts off.....
Seeing the wave gather outside gives the young man pause as his face turns pale. He reaches for the chair close to Vesper as the power goes out in the ship. "This will not end well," he whispers under his breath. Turning to the soldier beside him, he grins as best he can and says, "best hold tight, this rides about to get a might bit bumpy."

John Johnson has an odd smile on his face as he takes a seat across from Vesper, he stares outside watching as the wave begins to race towards the ship.
Vesper curses heavily when the power shuts down.
"Well... I can tell you that this is nothing, really", she says casually. "Ever tried to casevac off a hot LZ in a sand storm? That's a bumpy ride", she says in a calming tone. "Better still get ready to pull your life jackets on".
"Which reminds me, shouldn't the crew be handing us the jackets right now? That wave doesn't look promising", she wonders, eyes scanning the room for life jackets and crew members who should be doing their job.

The young man grins at the soldier saying, "I have no idea what you just said other than the part about life jackets." Looking out the window, his expression turns serious again. "Although," he continues, "I'm not sure those are going to arrive fast enough to be of any use."

John places his fingers in front of his face in a pyramid shape, his green eyes gleam in the dark eating hall of the ship as the wave rushes forwards. Everything goes black as the wave collides with the ship.....a new chapter begins!
The lounge is in total chaos. People are screaming and running around in the darkness. The classes and bottles in the bar have come down with crash and there is pieces of broken class all over the floor.
"Damn incompetent civilians", Vesper mutters under her breath but loud enough for someone close to her to hear it. She starts moving towards the corner where she remembered seeing life jackets. Rocking of the ship makes moving very difficult but she manages to get to the jackets mostly unharmed. She puts one on herself.
"Okay now everybody calm down and head towards my voice", she shouts in voice that is used to giving orders. "I will give you a life jacket and then you go outside. Outside you try to find a lifeboat, if you don't you jump in the water", her voice carries over the lounge and the screaming seems to quiet down a bit.

From the panicing mob, Helena manages with difficulty to approach the woman passing the life jackets.
"I' ll take one" says and puts it on almost immediately. "But I 'm not going out there, I m sticking here with you..." it's obvious that the young woman can be reliable to this kind of situations so Helena desides to help on whatever she wants to do...
Turning to the panicing mob and with a voice that could pierce walls, "Hey you heard the lady, if you don't want to become fish food you better compose yourselves and listen to her!! She knows what she is doing, everyone back in line! NOW!"

Instantly the terrified mob reacts to Helena, a few stay rooted in place from shock but some rush over to grab life jackets. The last person secures their jacket just as the windows explode and water rushes in. Everything goes pitch black.
Vesper smiles to herself when Helena puts the crowd in order. With voice like that she would make a good officer.
She is helping an older man to secure his life jacket when water floods in. Everything happened so fast and before she notices she is underwater and something hits her head hard. Sharp pain explodes in Vesper's head and then suddenly she is on the surface again gasping for air. The pain pulses in her head put she pushes it aside and thanks silently all those training camps for her high pain tolerance.
In the darkness she grabs somebody's hand and starts pulling them to the doors that are now wide open and water rushing in. They have to get out of here or they would go down with the ship.

While watching the passengers scatter throughout the room, the young man attempts to reach the ladies with the life jackets. While the temporary calm achieved by the directions of the ladies allows him to move closer to them, he is unable to reach his destination before the lights go and the room begins filling with water.
Supressing the panic growing within him, the man attempts to fight the current of the incoming water and half push, half swim his way to the exit. Before long, he is submerged in water and losing his battle with the strong currents forcing him back deeper into the ship and his certain demise. Some glimmer of hope is rekindled when someone grabs his hand and aids in swimming out of the ship. With their combined efforts, the young man believes he may escape and yet survive this.
