Name: Sapient du Xianin Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 30 Height: 5ft 9'' Powers: Tracking Weapons: Crossbow, Mace Animals: a black mare by the name of Obsidian Appearance: Sapient's head is crowned with short gray hair that makes him look, at first glance, slightly older than he actually is. The scars and rough lines on his face and hands show that he has been in the thick of a battle more than once as well. He wears simple yet functional gray leather armor that mark him as a member of the town watch, but-- whether for style or intimidation value-- he has added his own modification of iron armor spikes. Character: Although he is overly serious and stubborn at times, he also has strong sense of integrity and has been known to give good advice

This piques my interest. Not having been involved in RP here before, what are the ground rules?

Hello Kitharis! Welcome, and feel free to join in. No real ground rules, it's a story-mode RPG, as opposed to a DM-led one, so the story can fluctuate and change as more characters join in. The only real rules are that characters must have a basis in Tolkien's world, but you can be Elf, Hobbit, Man, Dwarf and everything in between. Thranduil is calling a council to discuss what may be done about a dark force massing on the borders of Mirkwood, and Tincolindo is out gathering volunteers. This takes place around the time of the Fellowship's departure from Rivendell.

This seems like a good point in the story for someone else to join in. I may hold off on my next post for a little bit to see if anyone bites.

I've done plenty of RP, but in many different venues and in different ways. I just didn't want to dive in and start stepping on toes inadvertently. Name: Kitharis Race: Elf Gender: Female Age: 478 Height: 5' 10" Powers: None Weapons: Sword, bow Animals, beasts: a blood bay horse, Nartâl Appearance: knee-length black hair, large grey eyes, dressed (when travelling) in close-fitting tunic and breeches with soft leather boots. Character: Soft-voiced, but has a tendency toward impetuosity. Very graceful in her movements. History: Left the forest many years back and has returned just recently when trouble started heating up, intent on defending her homeland.

Great, looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Since no-one taken him up yet, I'll play the hobbit in the corner for now, but he's open if anyone else wants to take him on. Name: Drogo Brockhouse Race: Hobbit Age: 36 Height: 3 ft 6" Powers: None Weapons: Shortsword and dagger Animals: Dun pony by the name of Sam (named for a friend of his father, Samwise Gamgee) Appearance: short, relatively plump, and jolly. Dark, curly hair, kept medium-short, as is the custom with most hobbits. Character: Fairly shy, but wants to help out any way he can. Not really a fighter, but suited more to being a thief. History: Has heard the tales of Bilbo and Frodo, and yearns for adventure of his own.

Unfortunately I'm not the most reliable person at keeping these things going (as I'm sure you noticed) but-- so help me-- I just couldn't resist making a post or two out of curiosity! I'm pulling my character out until further notice, sorry.
