Hello everyone. Most of you knew me as Szczepan the Red, but it's still me, I just changed my username to the one I use across the whole internet. It's been a while, in fact according to my posts, almost 6 months now, since I last kicked around here.
I feel I owe a bunch of you an apology for vanishing like I did, without going into too many sordid reasons, life got really busy for a short while and because of the stress I hit serious writer's fatigue and just couldn't seem to get the next part of Vaik's Story out.
Well a week became two and then school started up again, and with every day it seemed I pushed posting the next part back a bit further. Then after a month I suddenly realized it HAD been a month and I got so embarrassed I admit I did something I never thought I would. I just dropped from the site rather then come on here and face the fact that I couldn't deliver what I had promised.
To my group of readers, I'm sorry, you all deserved better then that. As the months of school have gone by I found in little free moments that I would want to write again, but not know how to come in here again. So is the folly of pride in stoking stupidity.
But in the end I found I couldn't just let it die. I can't just let Vaik's journey end where it did. I still have a story I want to tell. So if you all want, I will go ahead and post the next part, and I will try to not disappointing again. I must be more honest about scheduling, there WILL be times when I can't make a story section weekly, but I feel that if I make that clear now, the stress to do so will not be as strong and I will be more consistent by letting the occasional week go by when life gets too busy.
To know is wise, but to understand is a far worthier goal.

Welcome back Szczepan!
I hope you find the time and energy to continue Vaik's Story, I know the feeling when you get too swamped. It has happened to me over the years too, there were probably many months where nothing new really happened to Rivendell. But then you get back to it at some time and start working again

No need to be sorry, man! You do a damn great job there, a story of print quality for free! My friend is a writer too, and that's why I knew it's the "writer's fatigue" when you left. I'm glad it took ONLY 6 months, haha . As for embarrassment, check out a fragment of my e-mail to Elrond a year ago:
I had similar situation as Yours. Only recently, about 10 days ago I got free time and hence started my project of RPG chat. I was thinking about the unfinished task, but thought it's a little late to continue and was ashamed to return to Rivendell. But if You kindly invite the old fool dwarf back, I can build this machine for You.
So we've all been there, this is called procrastination, the disease of geniuses

I think you really need to get away for a while in order to be back with full energy and get the project where you want it to go. A break and doing something completely different for a while seems to work for me when I get stuck
Though I always tend to bang my head against the wall for a little too long though before realizing that I need a break

Welcome back!!
"Writer's fatigue" should be the very first thread linked to the Scriber's Guild...
I have a whip of banning (+3magic) and I 'm not afraid to use it!

Couldn't agree with you more... Such fatigues are always found in quality writer as the thought process wears out the brain. It take time to rejuvenate everything to get back in the top notch performance.
