I've been thinking about ways we can help pay to keep RR running, purchase music, and keep the dragon well kept on his bed of gold! The site currently relies on donations, but I had a couple of ideas... 1. Premium membership Members could "subscribe" via Paypal for £2 a month. They'd get a special icon on their rank, and maybe access to something special on the site? 2. Annual Auction RR uses an auction site to sell items to raise funds to run the station. Items are donated by artists, creative listeners, authors, etc? What do you think?

Ad 1. 2 pounds a month is much just for a 'something' and a badger. Someone willing to spend the 2L is probably donating already. Ad 2. Sounds alright, if artists will want to donate their works instead of money.

Yay, more people than med have these ideas I love the idea with premium memberships. Currently donors "only" get their names written in the Hall of Fame so making it possible to get "a head of the others" with a nice badge is a great idea

I've got some donations from artists and composers already. Though haven't yet gotten to release them yet Oh, and I have my Elijah Wood and "Haldir" autographs in my stash somewhere too

Perhaps premium members also would get access to new interviews earlier? Also I have the intention of making it possible for good members to get this access to. Either you could be lazy and just pay up, or you participate a lot. What do you think?

If only one out of ten members paid $2 a month, I would be able to do nothing else than Radio Rivendell, that would actually be truly wonderful!

Maybe Your dreams will come true soon, as I have some idea, that might just work For now, a small idea: "Radio Rivendell friend" userbar (placed on forums in signatures), for guys who donated. I don't know if it works, but I saw other free services to give such userbars.

I like the ideas. I did have some ideas on how to raise the publisity of the site but not any fundraising... But on the other hand more people could mean more funds...

Indeed! It all started for fun and that's what Radio Rivendell's supposed to be - fun and free for everyone I like the idea of a banner/badge somewhere that extinguish the person a little from other non-donors

Oh, and yes, publicity and spread is worth a lot too! It's so much fun to just read of all people finding their way over here and like what they hear and see. That's payment enough for me, really

You know my lord the e-shop could help..... I just want so badly a T-shirt!! And an even more personalised t-shirt.... Something that would say "I am a lvl 10 Herald in radiorivendell.com!!", yeah that would draw some attention.....

Actually the personalised tshirt is a pretty sweet idea. I'd love a "lvl 8 guard of radio rivendell" tshirt or something. Maybe we can also create a symbol for every title or something. Even though that's kinda more complex.

I am glad you like my idea!! We get to show off our xp and draw the attention of gamers and Tolkien fans. This September I will go to the Dead Can Dance consert, how sweet it would be to wear one.............

I like that idea, too. I already have some T-shirts with Rivendell's logo, but making T-shirt myself is something else than supporting such great project by buying it. If I woud want T-shirt with Google's logo, I'll simply make it. If I want to also support the project, I want to buy such T-shirt.

And if 2 rivendellians ever meet in reallife, both wearing their lvl tshirts, the one with the lower lvl should bow or kneel. (new unofficial rule)

I only bow when I aim for the guts - but if that floats your boat ...

I'd be more interested in personalized titles and bling-bling, like an « Elite » golden frame around the avatar and such.

And downloadable compilations in OGG -q6 or FLAC format, I won't touch MP3 if possible.

( downloadable because if I buy a physical CD off your store, I'll have to pay roughly the same price in import taxes so it's not interesting )

I'd prefer FLAC instead of MP3, too. I'm not intersted in CDs, because my country's post office losts packages very often and we have excessive customs duty too.
