I know how to open a new tab but usually due to speed I end up clicking anyway... Is it possible for a new tab to open when clicking a link? Is it only me or others noticed this aswell?

Also I have been thinking this little thing about the different themed playlists. Ok, here is what I have in mind so far, I don't know if it's possible but, hey, we are brainstorming here!

Let's say the the playlists would be 1. Epic battles, 2. Dungeon crawling, Horor 3. Tavern Joy, and 4.Magical forests, tranquil sounds

Firstly, since our Lord always puts in new songs, we could ask for the artists to categorise their tracks. Not all, basically the ones that are clearly into a category. This tracks would automatically gain three votes on a category- playlist ( I will clarify immediately, bear with me)

For the tracks that are already in, what if there could be a poll right under the rating stars on the player : Where would you categorise this song? Playlist 1, 2, 3 or4? With three votes on the same playlist the tracks would get to the playlist.

Time after time the playlists would grow, also when they become big enough the condition for being on the playlist could change from three votes to 7... i don't know...

I have more things in mind but I chose to end this post here, just to here your thoughts on this matter.

It would be a killer feature for us to host multiple streams. It would make us stand out even more as a unique radio and fantasy website I like the idea of the category tagging you have there! That's something I can look into. That way we can structure our music better.

I'm pretty boring. I log in, start the player, and leave it running in the background all day at work. I check the forums once or twice a day. I rate music I haven't heard before. Cool to do? I'm not sure I'd do much else.

If we get the different channels going, then I'd have it actively running while I'm DMing on Friday nights.

The first thing I usually do after logging in (and starting the player, if my internet connection permits) is to look up the threads with new contents and check them if someone wrote a response to something I wrote.

About things being hard to find and cool to do: One thing I'd like to have here is the possibility to search for posts by username.

Also I miss music pieces from the areas

- metal, like 'The Axis of Awesome - Rage of Thrones' or 'The Ring - The Chase'

- jolly/funny, like 'Emerald Rose - Never split the party' or 'S.J. Tucker - D&D'

- Rock, like 'The Eagles - Journey of the Sorcerer' or 'Blind Guardian - The Bard Song (Forest)'

But I'd say that's something which could be taken care of in different channels/streams.

I use the station pretty much like KITHARIS....log in and let it play all day long in the background while at work. I'll make a rating on a piece that I haven't heard before. Make a comment on a recent post. Explore a part of the site I'm not familiar with. Just casual use I guess.

We will not play commercially signed artists (unless we have the explicit rights to do so) I'm afraid. We used to play some but some american lawyers were on our tail so we dropped it. We'll not play rock and metal at the moment, perhaps some day in other channels

Hi there. Some thoughts:

* I like the idea of a role-playing focus in the design, especially since it appears many people use the site for background music during their RP sessions. At the same time, though, I'd hate to entirely lose the Rivendell feel. Even though not all of the music here fits the Tolkien setting, it does seem to be the touchstone to which everything else relates.

* Choice of light and dark styles: yes. I personally find dark backgrounds with light text, like the current forums, easier on the eyes, but YMMV.

* @Ioanna's idea of mood-oriented playlists is a neat one, but if an artist feels that some of their tracks don't fit into any of them neatly, perhaps a "general" playlist for everything might be a good idea. Also, while some of the dark/ambient/noise tracks are suitable to any genre - high fantasy, high seas, sci-fi - there are other tracks that scream "campfire" or "spaceship" ("SPACESHIP!" sorry), and people looking for game-mood-stuff might like some sort of distinction.

I like that you like it ! Also making it work like this shifts the "burden" from your shoulders my Lord to the community's, which is good. If we want playlists we all need to help and paricipate in the change.

I believe the chatroom is left way behind. I dont know about you but I am pretty chatty.....

Aaah, yes! The chat room needs to be brought forward! I just love to see people hang out there, it happens way to seldom. Let's see how this can be fixed. Perhaps bring together our hidden "Logged in members" page, radio streaming and chat room into one space. That should work I think

I've started with the dark theme now, and will work with that one first until I'm happy. Then I'll add the lighter theme later on. I will try to keep some wooden elements together with stone and metal

Alright, time to get things going a little! I have actually restarted my redesign (yes, again), but this time I think I'm on the right track! What are your thoughts on a new design? What sites do you like? What kind of functions would you want? Keep your ideas flowing!

Top of my list will be the themed sections -- battle, exploring, etc.

Indeed. In fact, It's this "general" playlist that I'd use the most. I like the variety of the channel as it is now - not that I wouldn't use the themed channels for gaming background music.

Oh, definitely keep a "general" list. I listen to that all day at work. The themed channels would be during my games.
