I don't know if this is a previous topic (who could be bothered looking through them all?) but i was just wondering what everyone's favourite movie is and why? Mine is the Prestige with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, it's a great magician movie and it's really clever.

I don't think I have ONE favourite; I simply could't decide which one. One of them would be Black Beauty though. I love that horse! *sob* It was such a good movie!

Mine are "the dark crystal" and "into the labyrinth" I cannot help it for me they are MAGIC!! hail to Jim Henson! I recently met the Frouds and have coincided with them in several festivals, I even uploaded a tribute cover of one of labyrinth songs yesterday online hope you like it Labyrinth is for me the awakening of my romantic spirit (yep it's a romantic movie for me) dark crystal simply takes me to another place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSR0JfrtACo

Monsters Inc, Ong-Bak, The Dark Knight, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Hook, are my top five in no particular order. Or as best I can figure. There are many movies that I like quite a bit, it is hard to choose a favorite one (or five for that matter).

My favourite fantasy movies are Stardust, Willow, LOTR, Legend and probably a few more, oh and I like The Dragonslayer too. Yikes, there are so many good movies!

israel, monkey island series are great! xD I am a fanatic, and own everything. last week I finished the last episode from the new game "tales of monkey island". It was really interesting and pleasant, even though it was not as good as the oldies. Very entertaining though, and a great, successful attempt to bring back guybrush!

I thought Monkey Island is a pc-game. I did not know that there is a movie, too.

yes..it is a pc game..so it's wrong to mention it here... israel mentioned it as an interactive story.. there is no movie, the only movie that looks like it s the pirates of the caribbean, especially part 2

If "Interactive stories" count, then I'm including Mass Effect in my list of favourites. I have already said elsewhere that the Mass Effect series is the best sci-fi movie ever, without even being a movie. Plus it's not even finished yet. Apart from that, I have to admit I am also a LotR fanboy. Those movies just have such an immensely beautiful and dramatic atmosphere which no movie even comes close to. Also, we all know how powerful, dramatic and beautiful the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack is. Well, the movie itself isn't any less amazing. As a kid I just liked it on the grounds of "wheeee swords and adventure!" but as I've grown up I've come to realize just how impressive it is in the drama department too. As Subotai so aptly puts in the movie: "He is Conan, a Cimmerian. He won't cry, so I cry for him." There are others as well which I count among my favourites, such as Starship Troopers, Equilibrium, Dog Soldiers and The Boondock Saints, but can't think of anything that in-depth to say about those right now. I have a nasty flu and thinking too much hurts my head.

yeah....i'm exitting from a flu also, i can't breath by my nose, etc....really is a very bad sensation....this year flu is very bad virus..... About monkey island.....yes, it's a PC Game but as i mentioned, i consider into the category of "Cartoon Interactive Stories" designed for PC.

Sci-Fi Alien, Predator, The Abyss Oh damn, I forgot Aliens from my list. I like the other parts too more or less, but Aliens is head and shoulders above the rest in my books. Game over man, game over!
