I've had ideas on creating themed CDs where we produce a different theme CD each year, say a "tavern CD", a "battle CD", a "travelling CD" etc. Indeed! I'd really encourage you to go in a theme direction... I mean, a mixed CD has a very high probability that there are at least a few songs a listener doesn't like at all. Assuming that most people stick to a certain rough direction of sound or temper or mood. At least for me, I'd definitely be interested in a epic/battle CD (Paul Houseman,...) or a tavern CD (some Hobbiton songs come into my mind !). But I would save my money with too slow or smooth pure atmosphere songs. But that's just to illustrate how "customers" may be thinking

Well, if you want a theme for the first RR CD, looking at the songs we already nomintated. We have a couple of dragons and a mermaid. What about "Magical Creatures" or "Fantastic Creatures" or some such. Just a suggestion, feel free to shoot it down.

You see i do take a lot of pictures and i'm free to go out there into the finnish nature if i just get an inspiration.

I'd also vote for themed CDs, as they would attract a completely new customers group: Roleplayers (*grin*) No, seriously. Exactly the task of "compiling" songs for a certain atmosphere is what would earn you the money. Most RPG-mastes have HUGE collections of "mixed" music, but still they don't have the time / nerves to put them together for proper atmosphere. (I am one of these DMs ) So, those DM's would be willing to spent some money to get the work done for them. Every DM dreams of a - nicely stlyed - collection of CD's out of a set like "RPG - tavern songs" "RPG - travel songs" "RPG - on the sea" "RPG - in the forest" "RPG - spooky themes" "RPG - fight & fury" "RPG - dungeon music" "RPG - elfish traditional"

These are great suggestions on themes! Perhaps we could start to scribble down tracks and artists for each CD already, in separate threads that is. I love that photo by the way! Great contrast between the asphalt and the yellow leaves! The theme for the pictures could be anything really, but any nature scene would do. The themed CDs would probably benefit from a picture related to the theme. A sword for the battle CD, a beer keg for the tavern CD, etc. Something like that But it's all up to the photographers The first CD will be a mixed album, so any nature/fantasy-ish photo will do!

To be honest that backgroung of my image is not actually asphalt, its mould/dirt. Here in finland we had the dryest summer in 100 years so that made the ground to crack.

Why don't we have the type of cd case Helgon suggested on the first page, and on each 'side' have a different themed picture, seeing as the songs are going to cover a variety of different themes too.

You mean a "digipack" case? I've looked around a bit and they doesn't seem too expensive, and they are darn more pretty than jewelcases. I like the book-feeling it currently has now. Sort of "Book of the Tavern", "Book of the Forest" etc. Then we can have the photos on the inside? And we need a booklet with artists photos and such. Here we could also have photos... and ooooooh... some of the best poems? This could really be the best thing to happen ever
