Really surprised we don't have an RR guild (kinship) in our name-sake MMO. What's up, FLE?

You mean a guild in LOTRO? I haven't played it in ages. Perhaps time to check it out again

I nominate Brandywine for the server, so we that I don't have to move my main toon.
LOTRO has a pretty large free area, so there is no reason not to give it a try, if you are interested in the lore. My attention will be split when GW2 comes out in August, but both games have no monthly fee, so there is no penalty for flitting back and forth as the mood strikes.
LOTRO is showing a bit of its age with some of the older (though still popular) mechanics and graphics, but IMHO, Turbine has done an excellent job recreating Tolkien's lore. And there ain't no better lore out there.
Last night, I encountered the shade of Arvedui on the frozen shores of Forechel. I was in the middle of nowhere, and there we no other players around. No quest led there - they just felt like he needed to be there, next to his broken ship. I thought that was pretty cool.

I love exploring new areas. I think I could play exploring, hunting, fishing and trading a little without problems
No instances and raids

Same here. Anything that requires coordination and commitment matches neither my play style nor my life style. The Mrs. simply does not "get" "Hold on! I'll be through with this instance in 10 minutes! My kin is counting on me!"

Rohan will be coming out as an expansion this September. A bit of music to flavor the idea would be this.

Also, game engine mechanics update and mounted combat are included in the expansion. Woot! Come join the fun!

It definitely runs fine on WINE. I ran it that way for about a year with no issues.

Great! I downloaded a 15GB zip-file yesterday at the office. Thought I haven't had time to give it a go before I went home for the weekend. My Air i probably way to weak to play any serious games

I just started playing a few days ago, and I love it! At the moment (well, not this exact moment), I'm on Brandywine with my hunter Noliren.

I am a huge Lotr fun, although I haven't played lotr online. I think that now is the chance to try it, hehe! I will download it too! Let's try to be in the same server and make a guild named Radio Rivendell! Nehima told that she is in Brandywine. In which server are you guys?
I played LOTR online for about a year, paid full price for it when it launched, paid the monthly fees and such, and then left when I found out they were going free I left. Didn't want to waste my time anymore on a game that was just going to shut down like Matrix Online did. I guess I'm becoming a MMO Pessimist. Having a MMO presence in as many games as possible would more likely increase your traffic and bring some prominent listeners however. That would be wonderful. Good luck! If I get some free time coming up I will join you guys

I currently play Noliren (hunter) and Niali (champion) on the Brandywine server, but I am certainly not opposed to making a new character on a different server if a guild is started elsewhere. Both of them are 13-14 at the moment, so they are still adventuring in the Ered Luin/Bree areas.
I do not yet know the requirements for making a guild, so I will research that when I get home tonight.

A friend had trouble playing DDO on a mac and turbine run both games. He blamed the new Mac OS and PC emulator not working. You'd have to buy a windows license anyway. Maybe get a windows lappy?

I think I'll stick with my macs for a while. I have enough computers as it is
iMac, Macbook Air, iPad, Android phone, Windows server and Ubuntu Server and an old Xbox and a Dreamcast
Haha, did I say I was single?
