I got a chance to play GW2 during the quasi-open beta this weekend and Soule's work on that one is my new favorite. SO many beautiful, distinctive songs...

I love the music in each of the Quest for Glory games -- classic, and I know it by the first note. So nostalgic for me.
Other games? The Diablo series has some really great tunes in it.... and World of Warcraft's music department REALLY stepped it up a notch for Cataclysm (Blizz had to do something right I suppose). There's a few songs in the Dungeon Siege soundtrack that are really incredible as well.
There's so many game soundtracks I really love, but I think those are the first that jump to mind.
Oblivion I loved and Final Fantasy 8 I used to keep on at night to fall asleep to.

Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur. Fun Fact: I will be co-teaching a music composition for video games class this year!

That'll be the music of Daggerfall, Morrowind (Yeah, Soule is awesome), but I also liked the sounds of Dink Smallwood.

Thanks Lord Elrond. I will teach the music side of things and the other guy will teach the actual game design features.

Every time I see "Riders of Rohan" my mind immediately jumps to the old 90's game, not the LOTRO expansion.
But Chance Thomas is a marvelous composer -- he did the soundtrack for Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire and I've been a fan ever since.

Last week I played co-op Trine 2 with 2 friends. I believe the music is an instant classic! Even though i'm sure you already know about it, I thought i'd mention it once again cause it made me pretty excited

Yes! I love the two Trine games! I've played Trine 2 with my brother too, great fun co-op play!
I've been in contact with Ari Pulkkinen on the music and he was positive to send it over when it was finished. But that was before the sequel came out. I will have a look and see if it still is possible to play it

You like Trine so much, maybe it's a good reason to try The Lost Vikings and The Lost Vikings 2, if you haven't already.
