If I may make a recommendation Lord Elrond... Now would be an ideal time to create a new forum here specifically for the new site development instead of just one thread. I'm sure there are many aspect to the new site that spans multiple areas of expertise. Could be a better way to stay organized. As far as sections go here are some suggestions: About Webshop Contests News/Announcements Forum Ranks Listing FAQ/Support Donations/Contributors Interviews Reviews Fantasy Awards Artists of the day/week/month or Featured Artist Council of Elrond Keep everything from your Downloads section MySpace pages for registered members????? I'm sure I'll think of some other fun features... But at least this is a start.

Alrighty, I escaped from work a bit, hey it's Monday, what can I say? I've started to paint on our beloved 2.0 design again. Here is the current work in progress. http://www.radiorivendell.com/images/mixed/rivendell_2_5.jpg - I've removed the "stone blocks" for all sections and will rework the menu and the right hand side. This is actually a few steps back from the previous design, but I think it will be better and cleaner and brighter. - I will focus on bright yellow-ish paper and blue satin backgrounds. This gives us a more "heroic" feeling methinks. - My CMS has developed and has been installed on the new server and will continue to develop in order to satisfy our needs for the new site. - phpBB 3.0.1 board has also already been installed. Will do some test conversions of our current 2.0.22 database some day. Please note that nothing is finished yet! This is just a screenshot of what I have done just now. Ideas? Suggestions?

I'm liking the direction you're going in Elrond! Out of curiosity, are the sections collapsible in the left nav/menu? One of the other things that may be useful is to test the printable versions of the site. This may be critical especially in the info section of the site with the song history, rankings, store, etc. You might want to consider developing a separate CSS schema for Print Media Types in the event that print versions directly from the page don't format well. I do like the blue satin backgrounds in the outer columns. That provides a nice contrast with the font and really helps to focus one's attention to the center column. It's a nice clean look that's well organized! Keep up the great work and thanks again for the update!

Hi all and thanks for your support I don't know yet on the collapsible left section. I'm curious to know if most people would really know that's collapsible. I've seen sites where they even had support for the site to remember which menu was collapsed or not when the user returned. But they gave this up, perhaps because people missed some sections entierly. Any thoughts and ideas on this? Perhaps better with one top level and then show new menus when navigating further down? My CMS fully supports a print CSS and it will work nicely, stripping away banners, menus, backgrounds and such. It will look great

Hi again! I was bored at work so I worked with the design to our precious Rivendell 2.0. Like the gold touch! It all looks great! As long as I can read where to go and find the forums and LISTEN to the music, I am very happy! It all looks very appealing to the eyes! My eyes are not the best but as long as I can see and read whatever you do, BEAUTIFUL! But that's me. Lord Elrond you will make it all work and you have some great web designers here in "RR" that gave great pointers for you. All of you are so creative. I have faith it will all work out Elvishly Magical when completed!

it's looking great, but the header seems a bit empty to me. Maybe just a light gradient arount the lantern or something could help make it more interesting. Ogum

Yes yes, header will change completely. It is still the same old it was in the previous versions (except with trees in the back). The top navigation will also change. Many changes coming
