Lord of the Rings is absolutely one of my favourite books also The Song of Ice and Fire!!!!Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was the first book without illustrations I have read at the age of 8 and as you can realize Harry Potter became my childhood's hero. R.E Howard and R.A Salvatore are excellent writers,Conan and Drizzt are an effect on the area of fantasy.However,David Gemmel is my favourite writer and Rigande Series my favourite fantasy novels....David Gemmel made me cry at the end of Ravenheart......Forgive my English!!!Greetings from Greece!!!!

I was 6 when mom gave me first HP book on my birthday. I grew up with JK Rowling's books. but I think Tolkien beat Rowling with over time. Now I can't imagine my life without reading LOTR or Silmarillion at least once a year. These books make me feel like it really happened, amazing work.

The Lord of the Rings! I love it, it's the best fantasy book ever.

I grew up with Narnia, the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings books so they definitively have a special place for me. I am more into LOTR and I know more about the world of Arda then any other world (except MAYBE this one). But my all time favorite book is The Name of the Wind. TNOTW is the most well-written book I've ever read, I could not find a single problem I had with it, it was simply perfect. The second book in the same series, the Wise Mans Fear was not as good, but none the less it is still definitively up there. I have not read any part of any of the Harry Potter books, and I've only seen like 2 of the movies. It doesn't really appeal to me. I have the first four books by G.R.R. Martin and I started reading the first one but it has waay too much gore for me, just a personal preference.

I love the Narnia series I have the audio CDs of the seven books from Focus on the Family.
